PreK SE Happenings

What a busy time of year and hard to believe that we are so near the end of the school year already!

Last week we had the summer sizzler and had so much fun outside all morning. Luckily, the weather was great!

Mrs. E’s husband found a bug for our class that was on a sidewalk and we found it a better home in our Eagle’s Nest

Enjoy!

Summer Sizzler Tomorrow????

The Summer Sizzler has been postponed to tomorrow. Fingers crossed the weather will cooperate. Please be sure to send in a change of clothes and shoes for your child tomorrow…they will get wet. Send them in clothes and shoes that can get wet, and maybe even a little muddy just in case.

We have had so much fun with the beads from Mrs. E’s parents (Mr. Terry and Ms. Linda). Guess they aren’t just for stringing! Take a look at the addition of our duck house!

Enjoy and stay dry!

PreK SE Happenings….

PreK SE has been so very busy with so many ways to explore what we are learning in the classroom. Last week the BioFarm was the highlight of the week as we walked through greenhouses with vegetables growing even taller than our plants in our class. We were able to feed the rabbits and goats while we were there. After our lunch, we sorted the containers and scraps of food to have passed on by the farmers to feed the pig. We even made seed balls together by breaking up the soil, sprinkling some seeds and a lot of water, and making a seed ball to take home.

Ms. E’s parents Mr. Terry and Ms. Linda arrived in Shanghai and came with us to the BioFarm. We were excited to finally meet them in person after seeing only their pictures or saying hello to them online. They really enjoyed spending some time with our class and what a fun place to do it!

Our bus in our class has turned into…you guessed it…a rabbit house! Our rabbits have even learned to sort their food! Take a look….

Friday we had guests from Kindergarten come and read us some stories that they wrote. What a fun way for them to share their book with us.

Enjoy!

Mrs. E

BioFarm Field Trip

Fingers crossed for good weather tomorrow! Please send a jacket with your child tomorrow. If it is sprinkling we will still go to the BioFarm. Don’t forget to send a bag for picking vegetables and be sure to send a snack and water bottle. We will eat our morning snack on the bus.

The Wheels on the Bus….

Our school bus has turned into a city bus and dropped off passengers at a juice bar and a nail salon this morning. PreK CN wondered what was all the honking and beeping going on across the hall and came over to join in the fun. Our airplane is also now playing “movies” about the life cycle of a frog or a butterfly.

What a busy morning!

Ask your child…what where you doing here?

Enjoy!

Monday Fun Day…

Guess what?! We have a moth…one of our silk worms has been working so hard and came out of the cocoon. We know it must be recent because the wings still look a bit wrinkled, much like a butterfly when it first comes out of a cocoon. Ask your child why would the wings be wrinkled and why was the moth trying to flap its wings.

What can you do with a cardboard box? We had a couple of empty boxes in our classroom that we colored and, with our imagination, turned into something other than just a box. Ask your child what they were doing here….

Enjoy!

Exploring the Eagle’s Nest

This morning we thought our plants might need a little sun and fresh air — and so did we! After watering our plants, we explored our Eagle’s Nest a bit. Take a look at how we discovered how to move a leaf to a friend across the water feature and revisited sink and float — what do you think happened with our leaf and rock? We also welcomed another SAS high school student, Alex, to our classroom to shadow us a part of his high school class. We joined Mr. Neff’s class this afternoon as we discover more words that have the letter Q…like the word Quilt.

Enjoy!

Fun outside…

PreK SE joined PreK SB and PreK CN for some fun outside this morning. What nice weather — time to explore some water centers, music outside, and drawing with chalk. Enjoy this beautiful weather!
