Mood and Political Priorities

Use a variety of news sources to “see” into the mood of your country.  By reading / viewing news coming from there you can learn about issues that matter there.  For example, if news from South Africa is about cross-border migration issues with neighboring countries, then you learn that migration issues are important there.  Look for issues in the areas of: development, economics, human rights, human well-being, conflict, environment, and politics.  There may be other issues too, so watch for them.  This process should be done over a number of days so that you develop a good ‘feel’ for the mood and politics of your country.

Use Google to search: “national news (your country)”.  Example results:

“national news Kenya” = http://www.nation.co.ke/

“national news Uganda” = http://www.monitor.co.ug/

“national news for Fiji”
