Hailing from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, they spent a half day with our students in rehearsal and performance. They put on an incredible show for our middle school and Man Choir rocked out on the song Change In My Life with them!

Congratulations to all students who participated in our PAC Opening Jazz Gala with the Charl du Plessis Trio! We had a great week moving into our new theatre and classroom. Here are some pictures I snapped as we explored our new spaces:
Congratulations to all students who auditioned for the AMIS Asian Middle School Honor Girls’ Choir Festival. Your auditions were fantastic and this was a very difficult decision for the adjudicators. You are all commended for a job well done and for putting yourselves out there. This year was particularly competitive, with over 40 students auditioning for only 6 spots. Congratulations to Alicia Chen (Alto), Joanne Chin (Soprano 2), Sabrine El Idrissi (Alto), Li Jaran (Soprano 2), Lauren Park (Soprano 1), and Rachael Peel (Soprano 1), who have all been accepted to this year’s festival in Myanmar! And congratulations also to our Alternates Sandra Chang (Soprano 2), Jasmine Liu (Alto) and Elena Zhao (Soprano 1).
Students who have been selected for the festival should come see Mrs. Banino on Monday or Tuesday to receive a packet of information with festival details.
Now that we’re well on our way to our fall performances, students have begun working with practice tracks at home. Here’s a great article to check out with 10 practice tips for singers: http://doreenfryling.org/2015/09/15/practicing-choral-music-ten-ideas-for-the-singer-who-doesnt-think-they-can-practice-on-their-own/
