Market Day

Your child is in the midst of creating a business for Market Day. This will take place on Friday, June 3rd 8:30am. The class went on a walking field trip around the  Zhudi Town community and collected data on businesses that exist in this area. Together, we recorded and analyzed the data as a group. Students then created their own groups and came up with a business they would like to start, which they believe will be successful in our community. It was encouraged that the businesses targets children in the area. You are strongly encourage you to watch the below videos and article with your child. This will lead to great conversation about perseverance, motivation, and ambition. These videos and article were shown to encourage students to not only “think outside the box” but to create a business, which is kid made not parent produced. It is understood that the children may need supplies for some of their businesses, however I encourage the children to talk with a parent and come up with a fair agreement about chores they may do around the house to earn money for the items needed for their business. This will empower the students and allow them to truly create a business of their own. Have fun helping them at home this week and I hope to see you all on Friday.
