Dear Band Parents & Students,
I’ve attached information about the schedule after school June 2. There are important rehearsals scheduled along with other activities prior to the 6:00 performance. Students will also have time for dinner and to prepare for the concert. I will go over all of this thoroughly in class.
The concert order is 1) ES Band 2) Concert Band & Beginning Percussion 3) Symphonic Band 4) Wind Ensemble. Concerts are part of the band curriculum, and a major test grade will be recorded for attendance of the entire concert and appropriate concert behavior. Students are required to stay as audience members for all performing bands. It is extremely important that all students support each other’s hard work and learn appropriate behavior for concerts.
Concert Band & Beginning Percussion students will sit in the audience with your parents following your stage performance. Parents please reserve a spot for your child to join you after their performance.
Symphonic Band students will sit together in a designated spot in the auditorium with teacher supervision. Following their performance they will return to these seats for the Wind Ensemble performance.
Wind Ensemble will also sit together in the auditorium until time for their performance. They are the final group to perform.
Dear Band Students & Parents,
I hope you had a wonderful week at China Alive! We’ve got another big adventure ahead this week, our Spring Concert! The Spring Concert is this Thursday, June 2nd at 6:00 PM. ES & MS Band students will reminisce on their year in music while playing some incredible music! The itinerary and ASA Bus Routes is attached.
All band students have been assigned SmartMusic assignments with due dates in February. Please complete this on time.
A reminder that practice records are due every Wednesday.
If you would like to attend Encore, the peer mentoring program on Friday’s, 3:00-4:15, you can apply your attendance towards any formative assessment. In other words, if you are missing a practice record, or SmartMusic assignment, you can attend Encore and this will take the place of that the missing assignment, what a deal!
Symphonic & Wind Ensemble Students who scored Beginning or Approaching on their “Music Current Events” project may resubmit this any time. In every case, low scores were due to not following directions and leaving out elements of the project. This was an easy project if you followed the directions.
If you have reserved a ticket for Friday’s concert, but your plans have changed, please contact the PAC Director, David Chapman at David.Chapman@saschina.org so he can open up those seats.
On Friday, standby tickets will be available before the show.
