Updates for the Week of 3 April

Quote of the Week:

Unobserved thought settles into character.

–Rodney Smith

Welcome back to a short but spirited week…

Hopefully, your spring break included some time to rest and recharge; from here to the end of the school year, we will be busy! (Please note that we do not have school Monday or Tuesday this week. See you back at school on Wednesday the 5th.)

Welcome back to all, and particularly to the four PDHS trips which were out over the break in:

  • Borneo on a SEASFiRE rainforest to reef expedition to study interlinked ecosystems
  • India to visit the Pardada Pardadi Educational Foundation and study rural development issues
  • Russia for a Model UN conference
  • Sri Lanka on a Habitat for Humanity trip

We’re so lucky to have these amazing international travel opportunities available for our students. These experiences provide powerful learning experiences which enrich our students’ understanding of the world beyond SAS. Thanks to all of the faculty who make them possible!

Parents: Director of College Counseling Candidate, Mindy Rose, Visits Wednesday

I hope you’ll be able to join us in the Library at 8am Wednesday morning to meet Mindy, ask her your questions, and hear about her background and vision for this important aspect of our school. You may view her résumé online through PowerSchool to get a sense of her background.

  • Thursday 4/6 — Hero Day
  • Friday 4/7 —Eagle Pride Day—Send the APAC teams off by showing how much spirit and pride we have in our school
