Quote of the Week:
We learn culture; we are not born with it. Culture is about learning … it is about being collaborative more than competitive… it is more relational than material… it is not something we have, but rather something we do.
Amazing things happened this weekend in athletics and performing arts with the SAS Dance Exchange filling our school with music, rhythm, and movement, and our basketball, table tennis, and swim teams performing admirably in meets and tournaments in Shanghai and Nanjing. Congratulations and thanks to everyone who participated!
Thanks also to all the 11th grade families who attended Junior Family College Night. In keeping with our institutional focus on supporting students and families through the college search process, we also introduced a new initiative that evening, “TheEleven“. College Counselors on both campuses are busily planning for this new program which will give our kids a significant jumpstart on their college applications even before their senior year officially begins.
END OF SEMESTER II: Note that the last day of the new semester, and the school year, is Friday June 9th. Except for Seniors, school continues with classes, exams, and important final activities until that date. Please make your summer travel plans accordingly; please ensure your child will be in school through the last day of school, June 9, 2017.
