Although it was short, our first week back was busy and positive. Thanks, especially to our College Counselors, our Alumni who returned to speak to current parents and students about their transitions to college, and current parents who attended the Alum Panel Discussions on Thursday. Turn-out was great, and excellent and helpful questions were asked and answered.
END OF SEMESTER II: Note that the last day of the new semester, and the school year, is Friday June 9th. Except for Seniors, school continues with classes, exams, and important final activities until that date. Please make your summer travel plans accordingly; please ensure your child will be in school through the last day of school, June 9, 2017.
Junior Family College Night — Tuesday, January 10th, 2017, 4:30pm
11th graders and their families should plan to attend our Junior Family College Night presentation Tuesday, January 10th at 4:30pm in the PAC. We will provide an overview of the university exploration and application process and share ways counselors will support juniors and seniors through this important and exciting time.
Varsity Basketball Clinic with Shanghai Shark (former NBA player) Jimmer Ferdette — Thursday, January 12th
SEMESTER 1 FINAL GRADES go live on PowerSchool on Friday, January 13. We do not issue paper report cards, although a print-ready version is available through PowerSchool should you wish to print one out.
SAS Dance Exchange 2017 — Saturday 14 January
All Middle and High School students are welcome to join us for this amazing day of dance, regardless of previous dance experience of whether they are currently part of the SAS Dance program.
China Alive Informational Meetings
9th and 10th students (not parents) will have grade-level meetings in the morning on Monday 16 January at which they will hear introductions of this year’s various China Alive trips. The week of China Alive trips this year is 15-19 May.
Senior cap and gown headshots (individual photos) will be January 18th and 19th, with a makeup day on the 20th of January. (Boys: please wear a dress shirt, and bring a tie to wear.) The group photo of the whole class in caps and gowns will be on February 9th.
Bring a Friend to School Day — Friday 20 January
On January 20th, 2017 SAS Pudong is open for our 4th to 11th grade students to invite a non-SAS friend to attend school with him/her. The friend will ride the school bus, attend classes, share breaks and enjoy lunch with the host and other SAS students!
