We Want Your Feedback!
Thanks to the MANY parents who have provided constructive, professional feedback to SAS teachers via the annual parent teacher feedback surveys! This is an integral part of SAS’s vision to engage and support faculty in a unique professional learning community that provides opportunities to grow, develop and learn together. These surveys have been specifically designed to elicit information based on your first-hand experience with the teacher, and are connected to SAS’s Standards of Professional Practice. If you haven’t yet completed the survey for your child’s teachers, log into PowerSchool at http://powerschool.saschina.org/ When you log-in you will find a Performance Evaluation Survey icon on the left to begin the process.

All ES parents who attended as well as those who were unable to attend are invited to join our Elementary School mathematics Coffee Talk on Wednesday, May 19 @ 8:10AM in the Grade 1/2 Project area where you will learn more about how we teach students mathematics using a balance of procedural and conceptual understanding, problem solving, explaining their reasoning, and using models to represent mathematical concepts.

Grades 3-5 Measures of Academic Progress Testing Results Go Home This Week – MAP Parent Session on Tuesday, May 24 @ 8:10AM
MAP test results from the testing that occurred during the week of April 11-15 will go home this week. SAS elementary and middle school students take these tests twice a year, in the fall and spring. These tests help SAS educational professionals determine each child’s instructional level and measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of reading, mathematics and language usage. MAP results are reported as RIT scores. The RIT score is an equal-interval scale, like feet and inches, which is independent of grade level. As a result, we can use the MAP results with our own SAS achievement data to measure growth in learning over time. Please note that further information about the MAP assessment is available for parents on our parent portal site: http://iwebpx.saschina.org/sasmap/MAP/Home.html
Join us for a MAP Assessment Parent Session on Tuesday, May 24 @ 8:10am in the ES Teaching Kitchen.
